International Institute of the Inclusive Museum

The International Institute of the Inclusive Museum aims to provide an online resource to aggregate content from organisations actively engaged in answering this question: how can the institution of the museum become more inclusive?

With hubs in Chicago, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Paris and Sydney, this platform will enhance constructive engagement with the following knowledge communities and establish a state of the art online research, learning and teaching system.

Executive Director is Professor Amareswar Galla. He is also Chairperson of the Cross Cultural Task Force at the International Council of Museums in Paris.
An alumnus of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Amareswar Galla was Professor & Director of  Sustainable Heritage Development Programs, Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies, the ANU, Canberra and Professor of Museum Studies, the UQ, Brisbane. He worked at the National Museum of Ethnology, Leiden, on Museums and Cultural Diversity Promotion.

The Inclusive Museum Conference is held annually in different locations around the world. The 2012 Conference will be held at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados on 2-5 August 2012.

• The inaugural conference was held at the National Museum of Ethnology, Leiden, in the Netherlands in 2008,
